Torquay Theatre Troupe Presents The Kitchen Sink
The Kitchen Sink
By Tom Wells
Directed by Michael Baker
An irresistibly funny play about an English working class family with big dreams.
Mum Kath is the loving heart of this somewhat dysfunctional family. Martin the dad, is facing the demise of his milk delivery business as a big, new supermarket opens. Daughter Sophie is determined, but struggling, to gain her black belt in ju-jitsu. Meanwhile her brother Billy, a fervent Dolly Parton fan, aspires to be accepted into Art School. Last, but not least, is Pete. He is Sophie’s maybe boyfriend. A plumber who dreams of taking his ‘love of drains to the next level’. This is a play full of humour, pathos and warmth.
Opening Night is on Monday 11th of May at 8pm. Remaining performances are at 8pm on May 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23. There is also a Matinee on Sunday 17th at 2pm with a free glass of sherry.
